The nature of things

Today was a great day. My husband and I and a couple of our friends decided today would be a great day to venture out and spend time in nature as we don't realize how close it really is to us.

We live on a 250 acre farm, which seems to be miles away from the city but is really only 10 minutes from the suburbe of Ottawa. Our friends live in the middle of the hussle and bussle and yet you forget there are hidden treasure all around us.

We fed the deer today, in Kanata! you wouldn't imagine you could find this in the middle of a booming city!

The fact is that as we grow as a city and people need more homes, the animals lose thiers.
Whats great is that we have these little places, where we can enjoy thier company and the total beauty
of a somewhat natural enviroment.

They are very sweet, they love carrots and great to watch. It is really neat to see them so close and realize what beautiful animals they really are.

Well after sitting with the deer for a bit, we then decided to do one of my favorate things to do.........

Allie waiting for the landing.

We went to feed the birds at another one of our hidden treasures.
Chickadees are the sweetest boldest little birds you can find. It is so neat to feel them land on your hand, the tiny little feet.
So precious are the things we take for granted.

Coming in for a landing.

So sweet!

It was a great Day!!

Followed by Hot home made beef stew and fresh home made crusty bread!
Thanks for coming out with us today Allie and Mike, you guys are great fun!!!
